iPhone app for Canadian households

Your household bills, sorted by magic.

FairyBill finds the bills in your family's Gmail — hydro, gas, internet, phone, insurance, subscriptions — and shows what you spend each month, what's coming up, who paid for what, and what may count at tax time. Everything stays on your iPhone.

How it works

Three steps. No typing.

No receipts to photograph, no spreadsheets. FairyBill reads the bills your providers already email you.

Connect Gmail

Sign in with Google. FairyBill asks for read-only access and never sees your password.

Bills are found for you

It searches only for bill emails, reads the amount and date, and files each one as a fixed bill, living cost or other.

Made for the whole family

Bills arrive in different inboxes. FairyBill brings them together.

  • Add up to 5 Gmail accounts, each with its own Google sign-in
  • Name each one — Me, Partner, Mom — and see their share
  • Optionally include Interac e-Transfers: money sent counts as spending, money received is shown separately
  • In English, French or Chinese, switchable in the app

Tax time, already added up

Work from home, run a business from home or rent out part of it? The tax helper adds up the household bills that may count, at your share.

  • Home office (T777), self-employment (T2125) or rental (T776), for this year or last
  • Set your share from the workspace area and hours; each bill shows amount × share
  • Totals by CRA form line, with the bills that need your call, like mortgage interest
  • Export a PDF for your accountant, in English or French, with Quebec forms noted when they apply

FairyBill adds up your bills; it isn't tax advice. Check with your accountant or the CRA.

Privacy

Your bills never leave your phone

FairyBill has no account to create and no server that stores your email. It's just you, your iPhone and Google.

Read-only Gmail

FairyBill can read, never send, delete or change email — and it only looks for bills.

Encrypted on your iPhone

Bills are stored encrypted on the phone and kept out of iCloud and computer backups. Google sign-ins live in the iOS Keychain.

No server, no ads

We don't sell data, and Gmail data is never used for ads or to train general AI models.

Leave any time

Disconnecting a mailbox revokes access and deletes its data. You can also remove FairyBill from your Google account.

Good to know

What FairyBill does — and doesn't

A simple tool that does one thing well. Here's exactly where it stops.

It does

  • Find bills and receipts in up to 5 Gmail accounts
  • Read the amount, date and type of each bill
  • Show monthly totals, upcoming charges and trends
  • Keep up to 3 years of history on your phone
  • Open the original email whenever you want to check
  • Add up home costs that may count for your tax return, and export them for your accountant

It doesn't

  • Connect to your bank, pay bills or move money
  • Send, delete or change any email
  • Work with Outlook, Yahoo or other mail services — Gmail only, for now
  • See paper bills or bills you only view on a provider's website
  • Track card or cash spending that doesn't arrive by email
  • Sync between devices — data lives on one iPhone; a new phone means connecting again
  • Guarantee every amount: it reads emails automatically, so check the original if something looks off
  • Run on Android or the web — iPhone only, for now
  • File your taxes or give tax advice — it adds up bills, and CRA limits still apply
